Episode 9: Turas

Postby Jeremy » Wed Nov 03, 2010 2:57 am

Still in Ireland; the club embarks on a protection run, the likes of which they've never seen before.
I don't know ... who Clay's hitting, except for you. I'm sure he's hitting you, cause you're his wife and all.

Still blown away by what went down, so all I can say, besides that I still hope nothing happens between Jax and Trinity, is that the music in this episode was AMAZING.
Sometimes, I just have to ask myself: "What would Gemma do?"

Tonight's episode was pretty intense. There were some dumb parts, but most of it was pretty sweet. I'll elaborate more later.

Towards the end, I thought the tat on the administrator was pretty stupid. Seemed like a grab. And the explosion was pretty lame too. But the rest of the episode was awesome. They're definitely keeping us guessing.

i agree the tattoo did look pretty lame, but i am interested to see what its all about because i definitely didn't see that coming. the explosion was very different from anything i've ever recognized on this show with the slow motion and music behind it, kind of strange but i thought it was interesting. especially the flashbacks between JT and Clay from Jax's point of view. That must be a foreshadow for something, can't wait to find out what.

Now that's what I am talking about!

I have had "SOA obsession" since Season 1 Episode 1 and I can't even begin to tell you how let down I have been watching Season 3. However Turas is starting to restore my faith! Although it had it's cringe worthy (not the good kind of cringe) moments, I was sucked back into my impatient captivation. I want next Tuesday to be here already!

My favorite parts from Turas-
-After the explosion in the farmhouse I absolutely loved the mix of Clay & John Teller in Jax's hazy vision. That had to have been one of my favorite scene's so far this season. Although Clay & Jax have had their (MAJOR) differences since Season 1, for some reason that scene struck me as a pivotal Jax & Clay moment. The viewers still do not know much about John Teller but we are learning more each episode. We are starting to realize John wasn't exactly the man we had envisioned him to be, and perhaps Clay was more of a father to Jax than even he had realized.

-Unser, SAMCRO, Hale & Osborne. I missed the realistic yet humorous scenes we would get out of SOA. I felt the scene where Tig & Piney attempted to tell Unser about Hale's thug beating Lumpy to be just that. Of course it irked me that Unser didn't want anything to do with their 'conspiracy', how could he flip against the club just like that? After the diner scene with Hale & Osborne; I was excited to watch him slowly realize that he may have left behind SAMCRO and gotten himself involved with someone even worse.

My not so favorite parts from Turas-
-How long are they going to draw out their lack of looking for Abel? In all the Teller's family desperation to get to Belfast and retrieve Abel, they sure are doing anything else but actually searching for Abel. It's getting on my nerves!

-The Gemma vs. Jimmy vs. Fiona scene. I mean really?! I did enjoy watching Jimmy on the receiving end of a gun barrel but it was just so flakey and unrealistic to me. Yes I know it's a show, I really do get that. But this scene actually had me saying out loud to myself "Oh come on!".

I feel like the season is slowly starting to get somewhere, but it's still all the while stalling. I can't wait to find out what is going to unravel with Tara, the Administrator and Salazar, and what will actually come of this deal between Stahl & Jax. 4 weeks to go! Let's hope we get some answers over the next 4 episodes and not all crammed into the finale!

Still no Abel, Belfast is getting old and I'm getting bored with this entire story line. :(

I'd really like for them to get Abel back and maybe get back to Charming, too. Belfast has prompted some great music choices for the show, though. I won't say that enough; I'm a music nerd and music in a show or film means a lot to me.

Judging by the trend in episode titles listed on Wikipedia... they'll be in Belfast until at least 11/23?

i prefer to watch them in charming over belfast, although i have found the belfast episodes very entertaining. i feel like its giving more insight to JT and the start of everything, why belfast and the IRA are important in the show, etc. speaking of the importance of belfast if you don't have the new APP from Itunes on this show you should do yourself a favor and get it, very awesome. I will be happy when they get back to Charming but i gotta say i am enjoying these couple of episodes over here. changing things up a little bit.
