Episode 11: Bainne

Postby Jeremy » Wed Nov 17, 2010 12:20 am

While the club's on a man hunt, Jax faces the toughest decision of his life.
I don't know ... who Clay's hitting, except for you. I'm sure he's hitting you, cause you're his wife and all.

I enjoyed this episode. More so than the ones that lead up to Bainne... I will try not to be a Debbie Downer in my take on last nights ep but here goes.

-Jax and Abels 'almost' new family. I loved Jax's scene where for a short moment in time he saw the life he wanted Abel to have, with two loving parents in a safe environment. (or so he thought). The song "Alesund" by "Sun Kill Moon" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpM-n6t-HHc) was perfect for this scene. It had me feeling happy/sentimental and worried all at the same time. I felt like at any moment Jimmy or one of his henchmen would pop out and attack Jax or the parents and swipe Abel. It was a perfectly erie scene and all the while contained an awkward peace... Loved it!

-Gemma and a gun to the baby... ok I know it is TV. And I get that Gemma is off her rocker at times and will do ANYTHING for her family. But I could not help but roll my eyes and think "Really Sutter" haha. I love love love Katey Sagal and thought she deserved an Emmy for her role in season 2 but this scene was in my opinion her worst acting yet. It just came off so hokey to me. Rewatch it and perhaps you will agree. Definitely could have done without the scene. What I was hoping for was Jax to take the nun by the throat and throw her against the wall, in turn she would reveal what she knew. This would show Jax's desperation to get him back. But hey it didn't happen, It was still a kick ass scene none the less.

-Again with Hale/Unser. So sad Lumpy died. I love where the Charming story is going and I wish we could see more of it. Things are spiraling out of control not only for SAMCRO in Charming but for Charming PD and most of all Unser. He turned his back on the club, only to discover Hale isn't the man he thought he was. I do remember reading before Season 3 started that Unser would soon step down. It hasn't happened yet and only time will tell. I wish we could see more development on this storyline bc Hale makes a convincing and entertaining villain.

-Stahl. For 3 years now we have all been waiting for her to get hers. Will it happen in Season 3? I know she brings a dimension to the show that is definitely needed but oh how I would love to see her get whats coming.

-Tara/Salazar -REALLY WTF?!
I couldn't help but laugh. Shoot him! Tell him to take you to the hospital to save his girl. Something, anything but what went down. Ridiculous. This was exactly as Alan Sepinwall stated, a display of the writers having characters doing stupid things just to create and extend a story arc. This was just cringeworthy...

-Last but not least, Jimmy O. How the hell could they NOT have staged a sabotage on him at the exchange between Abel and Ashby? SAMCRO wants Jimmy dead as does the IRA.

Well that was my take. I loved the momentum of this episode. Things are finally starting to move somewhere! Jax knows about Tara's pregnancy for whatever that is worth. Abel is back! Maureen placed letters in Jax bag... Now what? I hope we get more info and more movement in the next 2 episodes. I love this show and have since Day 1. Fingers Crossed...

Let's hope Season 4 won't take the club to find Salazar Mexico or something...

The portion of JT's letter to Maureen made it seem that Gemma was having an affair with Clay and that JT feared that they might try to kill him. I wonder if in fact Clay did kill JT so he could have Gemma. I wonder if we will be treated to the content of JT's letters like we were to his manuscript the first season.

Also does anyone know what happened to Chibs & Fiona? Or was that supposed to be left up to our imagination. Did they go back to the states? Hmm.

If I recall correctly they were seen hugging and kissing each other good-bye, all three of them. I was hoping maybe they would head back to the states with Chibbs. I wouldn't be surpised if they showed up in Charming with Maureen in tow. don't know how much Gemma would like that.

Do you think Maureen put those letters in Jax's bag with the intention of his reading them and coming to his own conclusion of what Gemma and Clay may or may not have done. I am sure the content of the letters will come out in season 4. Can't believe we are almost at the end of season 3.

Oh I'm sure Maureen put the letters in Jax bag so he would read them and learn more about his father and how Clay and Gemma were involved in his death. The little sampling we got indicates there are things in the letters Clay and Gemma won't want to come out. Jax will be in big trouble if his dealings with Stahl comes out. The letters may be his bargaining chip with Clay.

Well, first post so here it goes. I jump around as the thoughts come to me , so sorry in advance.Thank god they are finally out of Belfast, almost. Jax with Abel in the street market could have been 3 minutes shorter. I agree Tara should have put a cap in Salazar's ass, she had nothing to lose? I would like to think my half crazy grandma would pull a gun on an inicint baby to protect me, really? We all laughed at that one. There are way too many loose ends to end this season in just 2 more episodes. Maybe the last one is a 2 hour special?
We love this show and have friends over every Tuesday night for pizza and SOA, it's funny really , we yell at the tv like it's the Superbowel and a bad call was just made. Love it and thanks for letting me on the forum.
